How we help
Our assessment is designed to understand an individual’s strengths and weaknesses and provide tailored recommendations to support their everyday functioning and developmental progress. This comprehensive evaluation helps identify areas for improvement and offers strategies to enhance the individual’s quality of life. A differential assessment will enable underlying diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning difficulties and behavioural and emotional concerns to be identified.
What’s Involved
- Parent Interview (1 hour): A thorough discussion of the individual’s developmental history and current functioning.
- Cognitive Assessment (2 hours): Standardised testing to evaluate intellectual abilities.
- ADOS Assessment (1 hour): Clinical observation using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) to assess communication, social interaction, and play.
- Behavioural Questionnaires: Completed by parents and teachers to provide insight into the individual’s behavior and adaptive skills.
- Standardised Assessment of Adaptive Skills: Measures functional abilities in daily living.
- Optional Educational Setting Observation (1 hour + travel): Observing the individual in their learning environment for a deeper understanding of their functioning.
- Feedback Session (1 hour): A discussion of the results, diagnosis (if applicable), and intervention recommendations.
- Comprehensive Report: A detailed report summarising findings and offering practical strategies for home, school, or other settings.
Duration
The assessment process typically takes place over 5-6 sessions.
