How we help
An Educational Assessment provides a detailed picture of an individual’s cognitive and academic abilities. The cognitive component evaluates verbal knowledge, visual-spatial skills, logical reasoning, processing speed, and working memory. The academic component assesses reading, listening and reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics. Suitable for ages 6 to 90, this assessment helps identify strengths and areas for development, determine whether a specific learning disorder is present, and guide the interventions and supports that will help most.

What’s Involved
- Parent/Client Interview (1 hour): A review of developmental history and current functioning.
- Cognitive Assessment (2 hours): A standardised test of intellectual abilities, including verbal comprehension, processing speed, and working memory.
- Academic Assessment (2 hours): A standardised test of academic abilities, including comprehension, reading, oral language, written communication, and mathematics.
- Behavioural Questionnaires: Completed by parents, teachers, or the individual to provide additional insight into behaviour and functioning.
- Optional Educational Setting Observation (1 hour + travel): Observation of the individual in their learning or daily environment.
- Feedback Session (1 hour): A discussion of the results, strengths, and recommendations.
- Comprehensive Report: A detailed, individualised report outlining findings and strategies for home, school, or work.
Duration
The assessment is typically completed over six to seven sessions.
